Ignitius was one of the first children to come into our care at the beginning of 2023 when the Mushunga Community Care Home opened.

Ignitius’ father passed away due to the HIV virus that continues to ravage Uganda. During his illness, the family sold all their land to raise money to care for him, and unfortunately when Ignitius’ father lost the battle, there was nothing left for the family. As a result, his mum was left with no other choice than to seek work in Kampala, to make ends meet. Ignitius was left in the care of his grandmother who was struggling herself. When he joined us, he was malnourished.
At the Project, he is know as our ‘cheeky boy’. In the malnourished state in which he arrived, we took him to hospital and he was put on a weight gain diet. Ignitius is thriving at the project - he is now a very happy boy who enjoys to be around his friends.
He enjoys food and you seriously can’t get between him and his bowl of rice!! He also love the meat that we share at the weekends.
Despite his hard start in life, Ignitius is a playful, happy soul who loves to play football. He is 7 years old, and already had aspirations to be a doctor so that he can care for the people in his village, and keep them healthy.
I think it's easy to see from the before (above) and after (below) pictures, just how well Ignitius is flourishing with us, here at Mushunga Community Project.

We are so very grateful for the support of your sponsorship money which is enabling us not only to look after his physical needs, but also provide a solid foundational education that will set him on the path to achieve his dream of becoming a doctor.
