Mushunga's Project is Supporting the Community: Evaristo Tibamanya's Story

Once of the amazing things we have found since setting up the Mushunga Community Project is that were not only helping the orphans of Mushunga. By building our school and orphanage, we naturally have created job opportunities for other people in the locality. We have given you stories in the past from our teaching staff, and today, it's the turn of our brilliant Security Guard, Evaristo Tibmanya. Here's what he has to say about working at the Mushunga Community Project:

I am proud to be part of the Mushunga Community Project. It is definitely changing our community, by helping to take children off the street and break the sad cycle of poverty that many people face, once and for all.

I am very happy to serve the children at project. As a Security Guard my role is to keep the children and Mushunga Community property (orphanage, school and surrounding grounds) safe.

Before I was employed by the Mushunga Community Project, I was struggling to find work and have sufficient resources to take care of my own family.

I understand only too well the circumstances that the children in our care have faced. The monthly financial support that I now receive in return for my role, is helping me to take care of myself, my family, and educate my own children. That's a wonderful feeling!

Having this opportunity to serve in the Mushunga Community Project has been life-changing for me, and I am delighted to be able to play a part in the lives of these children to support them in creating a better life for themselves.

It’s the first time I have witnessed little children speaking English, in my village – it’s wonderful to watch them learning and their confidence grow. I extend my sincere thanks to all the teachers working at Victorious Community School, to educate our next generation of community leaders, and I send my deepest gratitude to Tonny, who gave me an opportunity to serve these children.

Anyone who wants to donate to the project can do so, safe in the knowledge that their contribution will have a ripple effect on the rest of the Mushunga community - and for that we are infinitely grateful.
