As we write this article, we are excited to see that our new Grade 3 Student classroom building at the Mushunga Community Project, is almost ready for the new school year.

And, this is all thanks to our friends from Sevilla, in Spain, who recently visited the Project: Conchi Illanes Ruiz, Iván del Préstamo, Laura Gallardo Amaro, Alejandro Cánovas Rubio, Nieves Casado del Préstamo, Rebeca Puerto Garcia de Arboleya, and Francisco Benjumea.
Initially, our supporters in Sevilla, Spain, came to spend time helping us improve our processes, working practices, painting a classroom block and living areas. However, on their arrival, they announced that they were going to make one of our educational dreams a reality. They shared with us that they wanted to fund our much-longed-for classroom, which will enable us to have an additional intake of Grade 3 students to the Project.
They didn’t just pledge the funds, they rolled their sleeves up and helped us start preparing the ground for the build. We are delighted that we will be able to offer more children in the community a safe and welcoming space, where they can learn and grow.
The classroom will be fitted with all the necessary amenities to facilitate an optimal learning environment. The team from Sevilla also brought us suitcases full of educational resources to ensure that we have everything we need to provide quality education to the children of Mushunga.

In parallel to the classroom construction, we are also working in collaboration with local teachers to develop enriching educational programs. We want to ensure that the children have access to a comprehensive education that prepares them for a bright future.
This project is a true example of solidarity and friendship between our supporters in Seville and the staff on the ground at Mushunga. We are excited to see how this new classroom will transform the lives of the children in Mushunga and provide them with opportunities for a better future.
Our dream is to continue building sustainable growth for our project, and while we have come a long way in just two years, our ambition is growing. There is much left to do. If you're interested in supporting this project or learning more details, please let us know! Together, we can make a difference in the lives of these children and build a better world through education.
As I mentioned above, our visitors from Seville were also involved in a wide range of activities in the Mushunga Community. They helped us with sports activities, community work, cooking for and serving food to the children, to building and painting! There was nothing they weren’t prepared to get stuck in with!
Engaging in various activities not only helps create a sense of unity and joy within the community but also provides valuable opportunities for growth and development.
The children were thrilled to participate in these activities and uplifted to meet the people who are working so hard to secure a better future for them.
Team Sevilla, we salute you! You will be forever in our memories and we hope that you will return one day soon to see the fruits of your labour.
